For example, if you have a situation when at home on your router for various reasons (for example, so that a neighbor picking up the password from your Wi-Fi still cannot connect), you want to set up a connection by a MAC address, and you want, in addition to your home computer, you can connect from the tablet, then in the settings of the router you need to enter the addresses of all devices. If you do not yet know how to find the MAC address of the tablet at Android, I present to your attention a small manual on how to find it.
Find out MAC address in 4 steps
- First go to the device settings
- Then click on the item 'About tablet'
- Find the line 'Hardware Information' and select it.
- The MAC-address can be seen under the similar line 'Wi-Fi MAC-address.'
Note:
The name of the lines may differ slightly, it depends on the version of Android itself, or on the manufacturer.

How to change MAC-addrеss
If you, the same neighbor, know what MAC is on a friend's device with the Internet, and of course want to connect to it from your tablet, there is a way out.
Changing the MAC address to Android is possible only if you have Root and RootExplorer is installed.

The procedure itself:
Before changing the MAC address to Android, turn on Wi-Fi on your tablet, and disconnect from all networks.
- Open Root Explorer
- Select “R / O” mode
- Go to the root of the device in the “Data” folder
- Open or create the “.nvmac.info” file with your text editor.
- This file contains the MAC address. You can change it to the one you need.
- Then in the document properties set the “Read” parameter for all cases. This is done so that when the device is rebooted, the Android system does not assign the old MAC to your device again, or any other.
