How to stick the protective film

After purchase, you can contact the employees of the electronics store, but this is not always advisable. The sticker service can cost more than the material itself.

To complete the procedure yourself, you need to follow a few rules.

  • Step 1. Choosing a location.

There should be no excess dust in the room. It is worth cleaning the area or choosing a room with a minimum of dust-covered items. This could be a bathroom or a kitchen. Before starting work, spray water in the air, so that microscopic particles will settle on the floor and will not interfere with the sticker.

  • Step 2. Preparation.

Remove the old coating from the device and wipe the screen with a special damp cloth to remove grease and dirt. If a universal film is used, then cut it to size for your device. A special stencil (usually included) will help with this. Otherwise, you can find it on the Internet and print it out. Alternatively, make a copy from your smartphone using a copier. Just place your phone face down in the scanning area and start copying.

After that, cut the film using a stencil. It is necessary to apply protection to the sample with the adhesive side. There are two protective coatings on the film, marked with numbers 1 and 2. The adhesive base is hidden under the first number. When marking, place the film so that the numbers remain on the trimmed version, or additionally mark them.

To adjust the material, you should use scissors or a stationery knife. The blades must be sharp so the edges are cleanly cut.

Cut the protective film

If the work is done with a cutter, then the film must be placed on a horizontal surface, after placing several sheets of paper.

If you purchase a protector specifically for your smartphone model, these procedures are not required.

  • Step 3. Fitting.

The device should be removed from the cover or bumper when in use. Apply the material taking into account the alignment of the required holes.

  • Step 4. Sticker.

Remove protective layer 1 and place one edge of the film against the smartphone screen. If the holes do not match, you can lift the film again and repeat the procedure. When gluing the material, hold it only from the end, not touching the adhesive side.

Protective film sticker

This way, prints and traces will not remain on the film. Place the cover completely on the screen.

If air bubbles remain, they can be expelled using a plastic card or the included spatula.

Removing the bubbles

Dust may get under the film during the application. You can get rid of them with a sticker or a piece of clear tape. Lift the material, touch the location of the dust with the adhesive side of the tape and remove it.

Removing dust particles from the screen

Wipe the screen and the pasted film with a soft cloth. Usually the napkin comes in a set with the material. Do not use any detergents or solvents. Chemicals can damage the top film or paint on the phone case.
