You can use a free smartphone app called Splashtop. The mobile version is downloaded from GooglePlay, and the PC version can be downloaded from the official website.

After installing the application on both devices, you need to launch it and create your account. It's easy to do – just enter your email address and come up with a complex, secure password. After that, you need to log in to each of the devices under your account. This completes the preparatory stage.

Connection and interaction

Connection and remote control of a PC with Android is carried out as follows. After launching Splashtop and logging into Android, an icon of your PC with its name will appear on the tablet screen.

If you have several computers and all of them have the necessary software installed, then several computers will be displayed on the Splashtop start screen. In order to have remote access to a computer, it is imperative that the computer is turned on. You also need an internet connection.

Next, we just click on the shortcut of our computer and get to the desktop, or rather, to the active part of the monitor.

To control the laptop, Splashtop provides emulators of a mouse, keyboard, as well as all the necessary function keys for full control.

In the settings of the program running on the computer, you can check the 'Enable automatic launch' function. This will allow Splashtop to launch every time you turn on your computer and thus make it visible to the remote device. Also in the settings you can specify where the sound will be output.

To end a connection session, just press the 'back' arrow on your phone. At the same time, it is important to know that with the help of the described program, you cannot turn on the computer and even wake it up from sleep mode.

With built-in tools

This method allows you to have limited access to the device. It is most often applicable to phones or smartphones, but it can also be used with tablets.

Of the functions available to the user in this way, one can note the ability to track the location of the phone, call it and block access to it.

You can also configure remote data reset. In order for these features to be available, you must have a Google account, as well as make certain settings in the smartphone itself.

  • To do this, go to the 'Applications' menu and find 'Google Settings'.

  • Next, we find the item 'Remote device search' and put a tick. Below is the item 'Remote lock and reset'. If this function is needed, then also check the box.

Connection using third-party software

Among the wide variety of programs designed to gain remote access to the desktop Android, we can mention the AirDroid program. The program is free and has a very simple and intuitive interface.

The first thing to do in order to remotely control Android a device is to download and install this application on your device. After that, just start, and enter the address that will be displayed on the application screen in the address bar of the browser on your computer.

In this case, the program offers two addresses, that is, two connection options. The first – top – address will allow you to control the phone from the global network, but will require registration in the program. The second – the bottom one – is a connection only on the local network, but does not require registration.

It is interesting that you can connect to the device through a browser not only from a computer, but also from the same tablet or smartphone.

After confirmation, which will need to be pressed on both the computer and the device, the start page of the program will open in the browser, where, in fact, you can interact.
