Training
As a test case, let's take the Pipo M8 Pro tablet. You need to start by looking for the firmware for your device. If before it took a lot of time, now everything can be found on w3bsit3-dns.com – a powerful resource for electronics. Once on the page, you just need to select the MID manufacturer and your model. Next, select the firmware you like and download it. As a rule, instructions and tips are attached to each of them. In this case, we are interested in a custom version of KitKat. On the same page there are also drivers for the device, which must be downloaded.
For the Pipo M8, you will also need a flasher – a firmware program Android, although on most devices you can update the version with an SD card. We take it here.

Process instructions
Now let's go directly to the update.
- Turn off the device and connect it to your laptop / nettop using a USB cable. The latter must be original, that is, this is the cord that came with the tablet. If not, find a shorter USB cable – no more than half a meter.
- We turn on the device. In this case, in the Pipo M8, you need to simultaneously hold down the 'Power' and 'Esc' buttons until a characteristic sound with vibration appears. In other gadgets, volume and 'Power' are most often used.
- We turn to the PC. You need to find an unidentified device using Device Manager. Call the context menu and select the first item – 'Update drivers'. Give up the automatic search, which will be of no use to you, preferring manual installation. Specify the directory where you downloaded the MID drivers. You may need to specify a specific file for your operating system. Then do not forget to find out in the properties of 'My Computer' what architecture the PC processor has.
- Now you need programs to implement the firmware, or rather a program, they just are different. We pumped it too, so you won't have to look for it. The Pipo M8 uses the RockChip Batch Tool. Run the application; pay attention to the green square at the bottom – this is evidence that everything is going correctly: the drivers have become correct and the tablet has been detected.
- Specify the location of the downloaded firmware using the button indicated in the figure and click the 'Restore' button. Firmware installation has started on Android device. The program, however, will ask whether to format all the data, ask if you are sure, but in general, you just need to wait for the process to end. The gadget will reboot itself and only then you will need to make the initial settings.
