How to block a number on Android?

Tired of spam calls and loan offers? In this article, you will learn how to block any number on your smartphone. I'll use the example of Samsung, Pixel, Nexus, LG and HTC.

If you have a different phone model, please use the Off-hook application.

Block number on Samsung

1. Press the green handset on the screen (call icon).
2. In the upper right corner, click on the three dots – a menu will appear. Select “Settings”.
3. Click “Block number” in call settings.
4. In the input field, enter the phone number you want to block. Or, in the inbox, just copy the number and paste it here.
5. Done, you have blocked 1 number. And do this with every spam number.

Block number on Google Pixel and Nexus

1. From the home screen, tap on the handset icon.
2. Open the dropdown menu (top right ellipsis) and select “Settings”.
3. Select “Blocked numbers” or “Block number”.
4. Select “Add number” and fill in the number you want to block. Finally, click the “Block” button.

Block the number on LG

1. Launch the Phone application (handset icon on the home screen).
2. Select “Calls”. The menu can be located at the top or bottom of the screen, depending on the phone model.
3. Next, call the drop-down menu by clicking on the ellipsis. Select “Call Settings”.
4. In the main settings section, select “Reject and send message” – “Blocked numbers”.
5. Click on “Plus” to add a new number to block. If you are too lazy to dial the number manually, open the recent calls list or contacts list and select the desired number.
6. Done, the number is blocked.

Block number on HTC

1. Click on the person icon (People app) on the home screen.
2. Open the settings menu (three dots in the upper right corner).
3. “Manage contacts” – “Blocked contacts”.
4. Click “Add” and enter the desired phone number to block.
5. Don't forget to save to blacklist the spam phone.

Block a number on other phones

This method is suitable for all smartphones, regardless of the manufacturer. We go to the Play Market and put the “Don't pick up the phone” application.

In the application, you need to choose which level of protection you prefer:

• Active protection – the program blocks incoming spam calls.
• Passive protection – the program only reports that this is a spam number calling. You can answer the call or hang up.
• No protection – nothing is blocked.

In order not to bother, we put active protection and select the type of notification “On the screen of an incoming call”.

Next, we install the application as a standard one for the phone – the “Configure” button below. Opening system settings

and select the default app for the phone:

We put “Don't pick up the phone”. As you can see in the screenshot below, I also have the “Getcontact ” application, it works in the same way – it only reports that the incoming call is spam.

Alternatively, you can install the Getcontact app, but it doesn't always detect the incoming call as spam, uses ads, and constantly offers to buy a paid subscription. But the free version of the program is also quite enough.
