YouTube Music is currently represented in many countries, including Russia. It appeared with us in the summer of 2018 along with a YouTube Premium subscription. Since then I have been a regular user of the premium YouTube subscription, which includes the use of YouTube Music. The cost of an individual subscription is 199 rubles. A family YouTube Premium subscription will cost 299 rubles. Of course, you can separately purchase a subscription to YouTube Music for 169 rubles, but does it make sense when for almost the same price we are also offered no advertising on YouTube?

By the way, initially I took a premium subscription due to the lack of advertising, but later I abandoned Vkontakte in favor of YT Music. Vkontakte, in addition to the restriction on listening to 30 minutes, constantly inserts ads up to 30 seconds long. Can you imagine a three-minute song listening service inserting a 30-second ad?
In addition, the advertising algorithm on Vkontakte is extremely stupid. Whenever I try to listen to music on this social network, the first advertisement appears after 1-2 tracks. That is, the user has not yet had time to enjoy listening, as they immediately try to slip a 30-second advertisement. After these inserts, I immediately close VK and open YT Music. Vkontakte implemented ad insertions not very well, thereby repelling their potential subscribers, but today we are not talking about Boom.
Why is YouTube music service so good? Firstly, after 2 years, it has become a good replacement for Spotify and other similar services. At least our colleagues from androidauthority have already decided to move to YT Music. It offers good mixes, a convenient and understandable listening history, and a section with likes. The mix system is learning and likes is one of the learning methods. For example, if you like a jazz song, the mix will automatically adjust to new tastes.
For many, live performances taken from YouTube can be a pleasant bonus. It's convenient to have everything in one service. Gradually, interesting features appear in YT Music. When the service was just launched, you couldn't even repeat the track. Now, of course, there are no such childish problems, and the service is in no way inferior to any others, it has convenient applications for iOS and Android, as well as a cool web version.
By the way, recently the service has become a progressive web application with the ability to add it to the desktop. Thus, the browser interface disappears and YT Music is displayed in a minimalistic window:

How has my attitude towards YouTube changed?
After 2 years of using the premium subscription, I am absolutely delighted. Truth be told, I don't tend to buy anything, but the paid YouTube Premium subscription is the only thing I couldn't refuse. After the launch of this subscription, YouTube has doubled or three times the number of ads for ordinary users, from which the use of the service turns into constant nervous attempts to click on the 'Skip ads' button. In the case of a paid subscription, these problems are not. Not at all.
The lack of advertising had a positive effect on my well-being when using the service. In addition, this is a significant time saving. Statistically, I spend 1.5-3 hours a day watching YouTube. Imagine how many minutes a day and nerves you can save without advertising.
