The Find Devices feature on your phone simply searches for nearby devices (10-60 meters, depending on obstacles) and connects to them. Available devices appear on the Quick Access Toolbar and the Notification Panel.
Enable / disable the function: Settings – Connections – Other settings – Search for devices.
When searching, Bluetooth Low Energy is used (to save battery). The search can be performed automatically even if the bluetooth on the phone is turned off. I recommend disabling this option – you can already find the device you need when you turn on the bluetooth; also save battery power.
