Trends are a fascinating thing, but still passing. It would seem that only yesterday everyone was looking for how to watch a tiger in 3D, but today no one remembers this anymore. Even the increase in the number of available virtual animal models has not fundamentally changed anything. It's just that the trend has passed and has ceased to arouse interest among users. However, few people know that Google is constantly improving its 3D zoo, and, for example, recently added the ability to watch dinosaurs in 3D. Here's how to do it on Android.
Have you seen enough of tigers in 3D? Look now dinosaurs
To begin with, 3D dinosaur shapes only appeared on Google yesterday. The company added them there together with the authors of the Jurassic World portal, which specializes in covering information about prehistoric creatures. Therefore, you can be calm about the reliability of the figures that Google has adopted. Dinosaur models are as realistic as possible – both externally and behaviorally. That is, the 3D figures of animals will also shake their heads, snap and sway like real ones.
What 3D dinosaurs are in Google
There are currently 10 dinosaur models available. Here they are:
- Tyrannosaurus
- Stegosaurus
- Velociraptor
- Triceratops
- Spinosaurus
- Brachiosaurus
- Ankylosaurus
- Pteranodon
- Dilophosaurus
- Parasaurolophus
Obviously, over time, this 3D Jurassic Park will expand with new models. There is no doubt about this, since the Jurassic World portal, from where Google gets its 3D models of dinosaurs, provides information about a much larger number of ancient reptiles. Yes, yes, who did not know, dinosaurs were exactly reptiles.
Find 3d dinosaur on google
- To see a dinosaur in 3D, type in the name of any dinosaur from the list above in Google;
3D dinosaur figures are already available on Google
- Scroll down the search results to the 3D model and click 'View in 3D';
- Then, in the window that opens, click on the 'View at home' button, point the camera at the floor and move your smartphone in a circle;
Dinosaurs can be viewed both in miniature format and in full size
- Move the shape over the surface as you like, zoom in or out with the pinch-to-zoom gesture.
Due to the fact that the original figures of the dinosaurs are very large, Google has provided the possibility of demonstration in two versions: reduced and original. At first, the dinosaur appears in a miniature format, which is very convenient when used in an apartment. However, if, for example, you are on the street, it is best, of course, to run the figure in large format and see how big the dinosaur you chose was in reality.
It is important to understand that on Android you can watch dinosaurs on Google only in the Google Chrome browser and only on devices with ARCore support. You can find a complete list of such devices on the official Google website at this link. However, even if your device is there, this is not a guarantee that you will see the dinosaur in 3D here and now. Obviously, due to the fact that the deployment of the three-dimensional zoo occurs gradually, different people have models of dinosaurs in the search engine with a certain delay. For example, I only managed to find them on Google this morning, although the launch was announced yesterday.
