Almost every smartphone has 2 types of storage: internal storage and expandable via microSD memory card. If the size of the internal storage cannot be changed, you have to save all the time, then with memory cards everything is much easier – buy more, and there is no problem.
How much memory is free, busy?
You can see how much memory is occupied and free as follows: Settings> Storage.
For example, I have a total storage of 64GB, of which 47GB is free. And a 16GB memory card is inserted. Remember that the OS itself Android with system applications takes up a lot of space (I have 7.5GB).

Working with a memory card
Usually it is recommended to use the safe removal of the memory card from the phone – the “Eject SD card” option. Those. first turn off the power to the card and then remove it. Then you also plug in the memory card to start using it. Few people use safe removal, but there is a small chance of damaging the microSD when removing it.
If the card is full, you can format it by deleting all data. It will be almost impossible to restore them later.

Place to save data
In order to save internal phone memory, it is better to choose to save files and data to a memory card. Go to Settings> Storage> Memory Settings.
What data can be saved?
- Photos from the camera.
- Themes for the phone.
- Data and cache of installed applications (backup). For example, modern “heavy” games store a lot of data – you can transfer it to a memory card.
- Gallery.
- Music.
If there is no memory card in the phone, all files will be automatically saved to the internal memory, regardless of the settings.
