Flight mode is included in every smartphone. Why is it needed? How to enable and disable it? This is what my article is about.
Airplane mode turns off the gsm communication in the phone. Those. no one will be able to call you (the operator will inform you that “the subscriber's device is turned off or is out of network access”), and you will not be able to call anyone.
Contrary to misconceptions, Airplane Mode does not turn off Wi-Fi on your phone. Those. you can continue to use the Internet via Wi-Fi (including messages and calls via messengers whatsApp, viber, skype), but regular phone calls will not be available.
It is recommended to turn on the flight mode in airplanes (gsm communication interferes with the operation of navigation devices), at important meetings, conferences, so that no one bothers and does not disturb the silence with a ringtone.
How do I enable airplane mode?
Go to Settings – Network & Internet – Airplane Mode. Just slide the switch to the on position. Upon activation, an icon will appear at the top of the screen (next to the time) and the operator / gsm icon will disappear.
Some people confuse flight mode with silent mode – these are different things. Silent mode mutes only the sound, while mobile communication is available and calls go through. When airplane mode is turned on, gsm communication is disabled.
How to enable – option number 2
You can activate the flight option in the quick menu. Swipe up and down from the edge of the screen and select the airplane icon from the menu that appears.
As a bonus, airplane mode will significantly save battery power, especially if you use 2 SIM cards at the same time in active mode.
