Finding a good and interesting widget for your smartphone is always a big problem. Because of this, many do not use the very nice feature Android that allows you to place widgets on the desktop. They can be arranged in different ways and so to achieve that the interface becomes even more convenient. I've been without widgets for a long time, but recently I've started using some and typed in a few options that I like. I know that my opinion is shared by many and I am ready to share the list so that everyone can try to find something for themselves and make the interface of their smartphone even more interesting.
There are never too many widgets.
Widgets for Android
Indeed, the interface of a modern smartphone is good and allows quick access to applications. However, sometimes access to them is not needed if they were launched initially. Many applications provide the ability to bring to the desktop small plates, often of arbitrary size, that display the most important information from the application. For example, it makes no sense to open a weather application if information from it can be taken out on such a small rectangle and seen every time you turn on your smartphone.
Your smartphone already has widgets. In order to bring them to the desktop, you just need to touch in the place where there are no application shortcuts and hold your finger a little. In the drop-down menu, select “widgets”. Then you can familiarize yourself with the list of what is available, touch it for a while and bring it to the desktop. It's simple.

Overdrop – weather widget for Android
Weather widgets are as convenient as possible and this is the very thing to start with if you are monitoring its state and it is important for you what will happen tomorrow. In general, there are a lot of weather widgets on Google Play, but it is Overdrop that looks the most friendly. It is informative, elegantly designed and understandable.
Overdrop.
It will simply be displayed on your desktop and you will not launch the application. The weather will be before your eyes every time you unlock your smartphone. Again, there are paid features, but even a lot is available for free.

Data Counter Widget – Data counter widget
Another piece of system information that is always handy to have in front of gases is the amount of traffic your phone consumes. The Data Counter widget can separately display information over the cellular network and over Wi-Fi.

The text size, color and background can be changed, and by clicking on the widget, you can get more information (including a breakdown of which of your applications is using the most data).

Musicolet – music widget
Believe it or not, controlling music is also much easier through a widget. As a rule, it is enough to just play the next song or press pause. The widget will do just that too.
Musicolet.
Of course, you can use other control methods. For example, displaying controls in the curtain, but the widget is much nicer. However, the biggest drawback of the widget will be that it only works with music stored on the smartphone. It does not support streaming.

Calendar Widget – calendar widget
Google Calendar has its own widget, but the Calendar Widget looks more interesting. Its design is highly customizable and does not overload the home screen, as other calendar widgets sometimes do.
The only drawback is that the application is paid.
With the right combination of text, color accents, and widget size, you can put together what fits perfectly into the dedicated portion of your home screen.

Sectograph – unusual calendar widget
Sectograph is another calendar widget, but it's not as commonplace as the others. Others may be beautiful and understandable, but none of them depicts your day by dividing it into sectors.
Sectograph.
For clarity, the sectors are placed in a circle and show all your affairs for 24 hours. This way you can see at a glance what you have to do right now and what you have ahead of you – this is a great example of a truly informative widget.

Google News is the best news widget
In our time, rarely anyone visits the pages of publications in order to read the news. All news is consumed “on the go”, scrolling through them in the feed Twitter, Instagram or Telegram, where we also have our own news channel.
Google News.
Google News, in which we are also present, has its own news widget, which will bring interesting news to you directly to your desktop. News can be opened for a more detailed study or scroll further if a particular news is not interesting to you.
