OnePlus has already taught us that it releases two smartphones a year. First, a completely new version is released, and then a small update is pulled up, which is done so that the company always has the most top-end flagship. Many at first thought that such enthusiasm would quickly fade away, but no. As a result, the Chinese company continues to release smartphones of the “T” version over and over again. This year, despite the coronavirus, the pandemic it caused and the problems of all manufacturers, the OnePlus 8T will be. This is not just the opinion of analysts, insiders or the author of this article. This is information that came from OnePlus itself. But what else do we know about this smartphone and when should we expect it?

New OnePlus phone
OnePlus has indeed confirmed that it will soon release its next flagship, the OnePlus 8T 5G. The company reached out to its social media platforms Twitter and Instagram to reveal the name of the phone and announce that it is 'coming soon'. The phone was previously supposed to launch on October 14th. The date has not yet been confirmed, however, it is readily believed in it.
A dedicated page for the OnePlus 8T 5G also appeared on the OnePlus India website on Saturday. The page has a promotion in which people can take part in the drawing of a new flagship phone. The web page also features a promotional teaser for the OnePlus 8T 5G starring OnePlus brand ambassador Robert Downey Jr.
The Chinese smartphone maker is currently promoting the launch of the OnePlus 8T 5G in India only. Amazon India will be selling the phone and has already posted a dedicated page. She teases her potential buyers a little and teases a novelty, promising her soon launch.
There are no mentions of the new product on other global OnePlus sites, but this does not mean that the information that appeared is wrong. In the end, for OnePlus, the Indian market is very important and many of its new products originate from it. So her behavior is not surprising.
What the OnePlus 8T will be
OnePlus T-series phones usually bring small updates to the company's flagship lines. Since the main version always installs all the best, then there is usually nothing to improve by the release of version “T” and changes often concern only the processor and some not so significant things. At least, there is no such thing that as a result we get two completely different smartphones, released with a difference of six months.

The OnePlus 8T 5G is expected to add some updates and design changes to the series. For example, leaked images of the phone suggest a massive camera module on the back, similar to the Galaxy S20. The phone is said to also support 65W fast charging, up from 30W on the OnePlus 8 Pro. This is a really important change, but remember that 120W charging technology already exists. On the other hand, you can hold it until the spring OnePlus 9. Anyway, manufacturers are in no hurry to switch to such speeds.
The front of the phone will likely have the same 6.55-inch display as the OnePlus 8, but with a 120Hz refresh rate. A hole on the front is said to house a 32MP selfie camera. The main camera is likely to receive modules with a resolution of 48 Mp + 16 Mp + 5 Mp + 2 Mp.
In principle, this is already enough to release a version with the “T” prefix, but everyone is interested in what is with the processor. After OnePlus has taught us that it should be updated in the “T-version”.
So far, there is no reliable information on this and it is possible that the company will stop at the regular Snapdragon 865, which is more than good. However, most analysts tend to believe in rumors that predict the arrival of the Snapdragon 865 Plus processor in the new product. Moreover, the advertising teaser released by the company emphasizes that we will have great speed. True, the speed of what is not specified, but it is most likely that we are not talking about the charging speed, but about the speed of the smartphone as a whole, which is largely provided by the processor.

Should we wait for the new OnePlus
I won't say that I am a big fan of the OnePlus brand. I don't like her attempts to play on the old image. Like, she takes the best and gives out almost for free. That's just not the case for a long time. The price of OnePlus smartphones has gradually increased and has grown to the same price as the flagships of other brands. I don't mind the high price, but I don't like the way the company plays it out.
Nevertheless, from a technical point of view, I am very good at OnePlus smartphones and I am looking forward to a new generation of the device. One thing I know almost for sure. The company has to show me something completely fantastic so that I decide to buy the 8T, not just 8. When Apple releases its iPhone Series “S”, it does so a year after the main version, and in them a lot really changes, but nothing can change significantly in six months.
That is why, if something brilliant with the price does not happen, I would rather wait and buy OnePlus 9. Or I would have already grabbed the cheaper eight.

Some time later, after the release of this article, information appeared that OnePlus has officially confirmed that the presentation of the new OnePlus 8T will indeed take place on October 14 at 18:00 Moscow time. So be patient if you wanted to buy it. It won't be long to wait, and now we know exactly how long.
