Either I have changed and, as they say, have seen everything, or there is something wrong with the market, but somehow the truth is not really happy about anything. It's just that everything is the same. Nobody offers anything new for a number of reasons. One of them is the fear of miscalculating and rolling out something that no one will buy. In general, the fear is justified and only some companies are still trying to experiment, but they do not succeed very well. And against the backdrop of all this stagnation, smartphones delight, in which there may not be anything special, but some of them are pleasant. I recently came across one of these and I want to talk about it.

This article is not about what a wonderful smartphone Honor 30 Pro + is, and not about running out and buying one. Therefore, wait before writing angry comments right away. Although, if my soul asks, I dare not hold you back. Only without obscenities and insults, otherwise the robot-moderator will not miss.

Today they showed not only Honor 30 Pro +, which I already sang to use. We were also shown Honor 30, Honor 30s. They all have support 5G and a 4000mAh battery. Among the most significant differences are cameras and processors. If Honor 30 Pro + runs on Kirin 990, then Honor 30 and Honor 30s have Kirin 985 and Kirin 820 on board, respectively.

I've used some Honor before, including last year's Honor 20 Pro. In it, the company resolved some of the difficulties with pricing and value for money. It turned out to be very balanced.
The new Honor 30 Pro + costs 54,990 rubles. This is a large amount, but against the background of competitors, the price does not seem so high. Perhaps the lack of Google services played a role. In general, you can live without them, although sometimes it is a little difficult. Before that, I used Huawei P40 Pro for about a month and did not experience the difficulties that I was preparing for. A year ago, the AppGallery app store was painful to look at. It was good for China, but it was not at all adapted to the rest of the world. Now, in the wake of the problems with Google, a lot has changed. And the company began to actively lure developers and they became interested in taking a place in the app store, which could become a third force (after Google Play and AppStore).

What I liked the most about Honor 30 Pro + was the feel of it. It seems to be lighter and more airy than the Huawei P40 Pro. Most likely, the point is in the narrow lines that I have always liked.
I also highly appreciated the design of the smartphone. It is not just a gradient or solid color – it has a matte glass structure (officially called “titanium silver”). Thanks to this, it shimmers very softly and gives off in the sun in different shades, but not too bright. It is difficult to describe it in words, but it will not work in the photo, but this color looks very beautiful.
I also liked the application of the iridescent word Honor on the back wall. Somehow it looks stylish. But I have a lot of questions for the camera, which sticks out too much. It seems to me that much more than on other smartphones. If this is critical for you, keep in mind.

How To Shoot Honor 30 Pro +
Smartphones Honor have always been equipped with good cameras and it is foolish to assume that the flagship will not get the best camera that the manufacturer has today.
In part, the strong bulging of the camera can be explained by the fact that a huge 1 / 1.28 sensor with a resolution of 50 megapixels (with a RYYB filter) is installed inside it. Special thanks for this. I hope that this will become a trend and manufacturers will finally start chasing sensor size, not resolution. This will make the photos much better.

The rest of the sensors have a resolution of 16 megapixels and 8 megapixels, and the maximum magnification is 50x thanks to the periscopic sensor and its combined work with digital zoom. The resolution of the front-facing modules is 32 Mp (main) and 8 Mp (width). There are no complaints about her, but there is nothing to praise her for. Just a good, but not outstanding front camera.

Naturally, I have no complaints about this camera. All photos are just great. I didn't even notice that cartoonish bias towards oversaturation, which I always criticized in smartphones Honor. Perhaps the manufacturer has finally changed the settings. On the other hand, even in backlit HDR works just gorgeous.
The rest can be noted the ability to shoot video in 4K at 60 frames per second, video with an aspect ratio of 21: 9 and the ability to automatically adjust the frame rate. The maximum slow motion frame rate is 1920 frames per second.
The camera sticks out strongly, but shoots well.
If you are interested in macro, but in this mode you can shoot from 2.5 cm. Not everyone needs this, but they did not do a trimmed lens for this, and okay.
How Honor 30 Pro Plus Works
There are no problems with the performance of this smartphone. Everything works as well as possible thanks to the fact that a Kirin 990 processor is installed inside it (with support for 5G). Maybe in tests something will be more productive, but in real life there are no problems with performance. There is even a liquid cooling system. Although, who will you surprise with this now?
The fingerprint scanner is very fast.
Difficulties will only be in order to give the maximum of this efficiency. There is no app store with all the main games, but I don't think that it will be a problem for someone who loves to play on a smartphone to download the APK of the games they need.
The smartphone is running Android 10 with a proprietary shell Magic UI 3.1. Most likely, it will receive an update to Android 11, since Android itself does not depend on whether the smartphone has Google services. Subjectively, it seemed to me that the smartphone works very quickly and responsively. Not some barely perceptible reverie, the feeling of which has not left me in past generations.

Honor 30 Pro + is available in only one memory option – 8 GB of RAM and 256 of built-in. Decide a lot or a little for yourself, but that's enough for me.
For the life of the phone cares battery with capacity of 4000 mAh. It seemed to me that the consumption could still be optimized a little, since I expected a little more autonomy. In my mode of use, 25-30 percent of the charge will remain by the evening with such a battery. There remained about 15-25. Perhaps the problem will be solved. But the smartphone charges quickly from a 40-watt adapter, but wireless charging is only 27 watts. Reverse charging, as usual, is also there.

Other characteristics include a 6.57-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels (pixel density 392 dpi). The refresh rate of the screen is 90 Hz, and the sensor is 180 Hz. The edges are rounded 70%.
Of course, there are all the most advanced communication standards, including Wi-Fi 6.0 Plus, USB 3.0, Bluetooth 5.1, support for all navigation systems, NFC and a traditional infrared port for controlling equipment.
There is also some kind of super-duper sound system with stereo speakers, but I did not hear anything special about it. As for me, this is a normal sound, like many other smartphones. I just don't expect anything outstanding from such small speakers.

I liked the new generation of headphones Honor Magic Earbuds much more. Here guys from Honor really did their best. Not only do they fit perfectly in the ears, but they also sound decent. It was not possible to check the active noise cancellation in transport normally, but there are definitely no complaints about the sound.
In the ears, these headphones sit very comfortably and the sound they have is good for this type.
The only complaint is how the headphones are positioned in the case. It seems to me that it would be more logical to arrange them the other way around. But the case is durable. According to the manufacturer, it has been tested and can withstand 100,000 openings and 150 falls from a meter height. I still have 149 left.
Impressions of Honor 30 Pro +
I used Honor 30 Pro + for several days and all the time I did it with some pain. Everything is great and I even really started to like smartphones Honor, which I used to be relatively calm about. They were still better than many other things, but now I saw a device that I would love to use. I don't know if this is due to the company's desire to do everything even better against the background of the fact that it now does not have Google services, or to something else, but one cannot fail to note the quality of the new product. I am glad that at least AppGallery is developing. It still has a lot to strive for, but it's not as bad as it was last year, when it had almost no applications for everyday use.
The smartphone feels very airy in the hand.
In fact, I have only three complaints about this smartphone: the camera protrudes too much, the autonomy potential is not fully realized and the lack of Google services. You can get used to the first, the second is being solved with updates, and the third is the development of AppGallery, in which I began to believe much more. Rumor has it that there are now 400 million active users.
The phone turned out to be very pleasant.
