The debate about whether a smartphone can exist without a headphone jack began at about the very minute they showed from the stage iPhone 7. To connect the headphones to that smartphone, you had to use an adapter. Well, at least it was included. After that, many smartphones began to come out without a connector. Many acted according to the principle “what, was it possible?”, While others just wanted to promote themselves, because at that moment everyone and everyone was talking about smartphones without mini jacks. Now there are still devices produced with this connector. And while you can have time to buy them.
Nice, but a couple really refuse it.
Personally, I think that the absence of a connector on the body of a smartphone is not a reason to refuse to buy it, but rather a reason to discover wireless sound. Let the skeptics continue to say that the quality in such a sound is no more than gasoline in Tesla tanks, but this is a really convenient and modern way of sound reproduction.
There is no need to say that the quality drops dramatically, since the codecs and formats that even the most inexpensive wireless headphones support allow for sound transmission so that 99.9 percent of ordinary users will not notice the difference with the wired method. Further, the issue of the quality of the headphones is included, which has little to do with the connection method.
Looks impressive.
I switched to wireless sound for a long time and for a long time and I advise everyone the same. Now the difference in quality between models of the same price category, but with a different type of connection, is not so big. But the convenience covers all the minor flaws, if any.
If wired connectivity is your thing, here are a few devices that still come with a headphone jack that, in all honesty, takes up an unforgivable amount of space in an already densely packed modern smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy S10
The entire series of last year's Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphones support wired headphone connection. This is despite the fact that the smartphone supports reverse charging, which is convenient for headphones and almost useless in other cases.
AKG headphones are included with the smartphone. This brand is owned by Harman Kardon, which Samsung bought a few years ago. The circle is complete.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 bundle can be called rich.
The smartphone itself runs on chipsets Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820, depending on the region of sale. It also has IP68 protection against water and dust and 1 TB of internal memory in the maximum version.
Samsung Galaxy S10
There is also an in-screen fingerprint scanner, but I was not impressed by it. On response, he reminded me of the one that I met in the version Porsche Design based on Huawei Mate 10. It did not work quickly and did not always work at all. The updates have improved the case, but not enough that it can compare with many other similar solutions on the market.
Huawei P30
Unlike the Huawei P30 Pro, which I consider to be one of the best smartphones of the past year, its average version Huawei P30 was equipped with a headphone jack. The older brother, unlike her, worked with headphones either through Bluetooth, or through USB Type-C.
The smartphone itself in all its versions turned out to be very pleasant. It is largely thanks to him that the company is still able to overcome the difficulties that it has encountered since the middle of last year. She continues to produce analogs of the varieties of this smartphone, which are still very relevant, but at the same time can work with Google services. In my opinion, this is a very elegant solution and the “safety margin” of this particular smartphone has allowed the company to stay afloat on the international arena itself. I'm not even talking only about the mobile division, since a blow was struck at the company's core telecommunications activities.
Entire line Huawei P30 (Lite, Regular and Pro)
Huawei The P30 is powered by the powerful Kirin 980 chipset and 6.1-inch display. The fingerprint scanner performs better than the Samsung Galaxy S10, but the company has definitely overdone its branded memory cards. Although, why are they needed, if the built-in memory is already enough.
On the back there are three cameras, and on the front there is a neat cutout in the display, which I still value more than the opening. This applies not only to this smartphone, but in general to displays in general.
Xiaomi Mi 9T and Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro
I have a somewhat ambiguous attitude towards smartphones Xiaomi. I apologize in advance to brand lovers. I respect your choice, but I cannot share it. I first encountered these smartphones a long time ago. Then they were not yet a fully commercial project and were fanned with an aura of romance, rebellion and movement against a system that did not accept newcomers to its club of hardened wolves.
Xiaomi Mi 9T, Well, just like everyone else.
Then I really liked some of the models. For example, Mi 5S. There was something about him. Before him, there were also good models, but I liked him more than the rest. Then the Mi 6 appeared and off we go. I liked him less, then new models appeared, but nothing new appeared in them (forgive the pun). What was new looked somehow strange, and also these problems with naming and a large set Redmi. In short, it didn't work for me. But not to say that they have a headphone jack, it is impossible, because this is also a flagship.
Many will say that the Mi 9T Pro is excellent value for money. I will not argue, I will remain with my opinion. For his money, he offers Snapdragon 855 (in the Mi 9T version there will be Snapdragon 730), triple camera (maximum 48 MP), frameless AMOLED – display (6.39 inches, Full HD +) , A 20-megapixel outgoing front camera, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, a 4000 mAh battery and, of course, a headphone jack.
Realme X2 Pro
Unlike the latest models Xiaomi, this smartphone really pleasantly surprised me. I won't say that it is the best, but for its price it has very pleasant characteristics and works very well.
I was most impressed by its performance and camera. It was they who made the most pleasant impression, but did not fail the rest of the parameters. For example, 12 GB of RAM and 256 internal memory at maximum speed.
It is immediately clear under what brand this smartphone is released.
In addition, it features a 6.5-inch Super display AMOLED, Snapdragon 855 Plus, 64MP camera and 50W Super VOOC fast charging capable of filling the battery in just 30 minutes.
Maybe in some way it loses to the super-flagships, but for its money it is definitely interesting and it has a headphone jack.
Asus Zenfone 6
The last phone to have a headphone jack that you can still buy and that stands out from the rest is Asus Zenfone 6 with its interesting but controversial camera.
Let me remind you that the camera of this smartphone does not slide out, but leans back. That is, the main camera turns into a front camera. This way you can save on an additional front module and not look for a compromise that will fit into the squeezed frames of the front panel.
The questions were only about the mechanism itself. When he could not close, he began to dangle helplessly. It looked so-so and it was necessary to first close it with a hand and only then it began to work normally.
This camera design has its advantages, but there are also enough disadvantages.
The smartphone is equipped with Snapdragon 855, 6 or 12 GB of RAM and 64 or 265 GB of storage. The main camera sensor is 48 megapixels, and the width is 13 megapixels. Personally, the zoom was enough for me. When I used my smartphone, I thought that it would be better to install it instead of the wide-angle module, since the main module was already wide enough. But thanks for the 5000 mAh battery!
In conclusion, let's answer a small question in order to understand how your opinion coincides with this collection. Answer which smartphone with a headphone jack do you think is the best from the above list. It will be interesting to study the results. And of course, do not forget to go to our Telegram chat.
