Xiaomi Mi 10 or Realme X50 Pro? Choosing the best Chinese budget flagship

Earlier Xiaomi presented its flagship smartphone Mi 10. Together with it, a Pro version was also presented, which differs in camera modules. Otherwise, they are technically the same gadgets. Meanwhile, there is another brand – Realme, which previously pleased us with the flagship killer. BBK subsidiary brand unveiled the X50 Pro smartphone today. It is the main competitor to the Mi 10, both technically and in terms of price. Which device is better – Mi 10 or X50 Pro? We will try to answer this question.

Let's start with the exterior. The devices are quite similar in design, however Realme seems more interesting from the back due to the matte glass. The company offers two color solutions Moss Green and Rust Red. Both in the photos, of course, look amazing. The Mi 10 also has a glass back, but it is not matte, which makes the device too familiar and similar to other devices. The camera bezels on both phones are quite similar.

Now let's take a look at the front panel. Here, in my opinion, Xiaomi Mi 10 seems more interesting due to the 3D glass and a small notch. In the case of Realme X50 Pro, 3D glass is out of the question, and this is a serious moment, because it is precisely such glass in production that is much more expensive than usual, therefore Realme should surprise us with something, to justify the higher price tag compared to Xiaomi. Let's see how they will please us.

The X50 Pro on the front is very similar to the Galaxy S10 +, with an identical cutout Redmi of the K30, but on the right side of the screen. Our colleagues from androidauthority note that the phone is quite tight in the hands, it feels monolithic and has a pleasant weight.

Realme The X50 Pro is equipped with a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED – a screen with a picture refresh rate of 90 Hz and a touch screen refresh rate of 180 Hz. The brightness of the device screen exceeds 1000 nits, the color gamut here is 105% NTSC and 100% DCI-P3. It says only one thing – the screen here is one of the best on the market.

B Xiaomi Mi 10 6.67-inch Super AMOLED – display with a maximum brightness of 1120 nits, 90 Hz frequency and 180 Hz touchscreen. In terms of displays, everything is very similar here.

The Realme X50 Pro has a dual front camera (32MP Sony IMX616 with a viewing angle of 80 degrees + 8MP with a viewing angle of 105 degrees), which is capable of shooting at both 30 and 120 frames in give me a sec. The main camera in a 64-megapixel GW1 device from Samsung with an aperture of f / 1.8 is complemented by an 8-megapixel shirik with a 119-degree viewing angle and an f / 2.3 aperture, a 13-megapixel telephoto module with an f / 2.5 aperture and 2x optical zoom, and also a monochrome module for portraits.

The 13MP telephoto module in the device offers the user 5x hybrid optical zoom and 20x software zoom. The phone also uses Smooth Zoom Technology to seamlessly zoom in on focus. The main camera offers 4K footage at 30fps, which is modest compared to 8K in Xiaomi.

Speaking of which Xiaomi, the Mi 10 is equipped with a 108-megapixel main module with an f / 1.7 aperture, 13-megapixel wide-angle, 2-megapixel macro, 2-megapixel ToF. The front camera in the device is 20 megapixels capable of shooting FHD at 30 frames. As mentioned above, the main module will offer the consumer video shooting at 8K resolution and 30 frames per second.

From the cameras it is obvious that Xiaomi looks a little more interesting, although the front camera is Realme better. The brand has always had a reputation for great front-facing cameras, and the X50 Pro is no exception.

Realme X50 Pro or Xiaomi Mi 10

Many people today don't need 8GB of RAM, and if you are one of them, the $ 528 X50 Pro is an interesting option. The phone version Realme with 8GB of RAM is only $ 17 cheaper than the Mi 10. And this is where the dispute arises. Which phone is better? In terms of camera and autonomy, the smartphone Xiaomi slightly outperforms Realme, otherwise these are identical phones, which even outwardly differ little. If you want a good front camera, Realme is a more interesting option. In addition, the phone offers a high-quality vibrator, which is so lacking in modern budget flagships. Like 3D glass on the front? Then Xiaomi Mi 10 is more attractive. The choice is yours, both phones are very similar, and it all depends only on your preferences, because in some moments it is better Realme, in some, on the contrary Xiaomi. But taken as a whole, the Mi 10 seems like a slightly more winning option.
