Who will be the first Snapdragon 865 Plus smartphone. Galaxy Note 20?

Qualcomm has already taught us that it is releasing a “plus” version of its processor closer to the release of the new chip. Let this happen only the second time in a row, but they quickly get used to good things. This practice helps companies to release devices with the latest processors, even if their refresh cycle does not coincide with the refresh cycle of Snapdragon chipsets. This year, we will most likely receive a new processor in just a few weeks. It remains only to think about who will be the first lucky person to receive this processor, because this is not just an update on duty, but a full-fledged component of a powerful smartphone. Oddly enough, even the new Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra may become its first owner, but not everything is so simple.

We are waiting for this processor very soon.

When will the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Fold 2 come out?

We have already talked about the fact that the company is likely to show the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 (in several versions) and Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 on August 5, that is, in about a month and a half. As it should be before the presentation, the closer to it, the more leaks. Some of them are due to the fact that more people start to encounter a new model when it leaves the laboratory. Other leaks are completely controlled by companies and can only be conditionally called random.

Whatever they are, they are still there and one of them tells us that the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 in the Ultra version can get the newest processor Qualcomm Snapdragon, which will have just crazy performance, which is not even a fact that someone will need. But it will raise the price of the phone very well. Considering that the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, the experience of using which I will share from day to day, costs 1,400 dollars, then in the case of the Note 20 Ultra, we can talk about a beautiful round “one and a half”.

This time, the leaked information about the new smartphone came from Ice Universe, a well-known fan of the Samsung brand. He claims that everything has already been decided and it is absolutely certain that the new product will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus. So far, we can only say for sure that the company already knows what the smartphone will be like. In such a short time before the presentation, the smartphone should definitely be almost ready. At a minimum, his processor will definitely not change.

When the Snapdragon 865 Plus comes out

Let me remind you that in April this year, CEO Meizu Wang Zhigyan stated that the industry will not receive the Snapdragon 865 Plus this year. And even if nothing has been decided for sure and we have not seen the new processor, the speed with which rumors about this monster appear makes us think that he was wrong.

The basic version was good. The novelty should get even better.

In addition to information about the new processor, leaks have reported that the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will be equipped with a QHD + LTPO panel AMOLED. The phone will also have a 120Hz refresh rate option in QHD + resolution, which the Galaxy S20 series lacks.

There is also information that the new smartphone will receive an updated S Pen stylus, which is a trademark of the Samsung Galaxy Note line. And also, as it should be, the camera will be improved.

It is still difficult to say something more about the new product, but leaks appear more and more often and in the coming days, most likely, we will find out something else. As a result, as usual, the presentation will give us nothing and on it they will simply tell us everything that we already knew. On the one hand, leaks are interesting, but on the other, they also have their drawbacks. How great it was before, when the presentation looked like the last episode of your favorite TV series. Now there are only “spoilers” around.

Here's another spoiler about the Galaxy Note 20's appearance.

First smartphone on Snapdragon 865 Plus

Considering all of the above, the novelty may become the first smartphone on the Snapdragon 865 Plus processor. But, as they say, it may not. This is due to a couple of smartphones that are already on the way and that need this processor much more than Samsung.

Of course, first of all I'm talking about ASUS gaming smartphones. They even showed up in GeekBench benchmarks.

It was in the device “Asus ZF” that the Snapdragon 865 Plus lit up. The test smartphone ran Android 10 and had a whopping 16GB of RAM. As a result, according to the test results, the gadget scored 973 points in single-core mode and 3346 points in multi-core mode.

Apparently, this device is a gaming ASUS ROG Phone III or just the flagship ASUS ZenFon 7. Both of them can get this chipset as a basis.

Perhaps this smartphone will be the first to use the Snapdragon 865 Plus.

In the end, it only remains to add that the Snapdragon 865 Plus is built on a three-cluster scheme, where the most interesting will be the productive core. It will operate at 3.1 GHz. The rest of the components will not differ from the base Qualcomm Snapdragon 865.

Whichever smartphone gets this processor, it will automatically become one of the most productive devices. But how many users in the conditions that have developed in the world due to the pandemic would want to buy such an expensive device. After all, a smartphone with such a processor will definitely not be cheap. Tell us in our Telegram chat how you feel about such upgrades.

I also note that at the moment Samsung's chances of releasing the first smartphone on a new processor are higher than those of the Chinese manufacturer, since it was China that took the first blow of the new epidemic and companies could suffer from this. As a result, delays in development and production are not excluded. But is it really so, will show only the next month and a half.
