A couple of weeks ago, Samsung introduced its new Galaxy Note 20 smartphones. Everyone knows about this, but not everyone knows that it has several obvious flaws that the company either did not want to fight with, or decided to turn them from a bug into a feature. . I have already managed to personally get acquainted with this phone and I can say that some of the shortcomings are not so striking, but this is not so important. I would like to share a list of what I consider to be a worthy alternative to the new Samsung. I took the models for the list based on their cost and quality. Many of them are not that new – at least they were presented more than two weeks ago – but I still consider them very successful and I am ready to consider them as an alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Note 20.
The Galaxy Note 20 is cool, but it also has alternatives.
There will be no rating in the presented models. They are not listed in order of importance, but just like that, mixed. You also need to understand that not all of them will have the S Pen stylus, as this “poke” is a distinctive feature of the Note series. Well, okay, enough backstories. Let's already discuss the options presented.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 – cool characteristics of the ex-flagship
If you want to buy a smartphone as close as possible to the Samsung Galaxy Note 20, but would like to save money, the previous generation of this device will be your option. Let last year's model have a slightly simpler processor, but it becomes so only if we compare it with the Snapdragon 865 Plus, but not with the Exynos 990. In the second case, there will not be much difference – no matter which processor of that smartphone you will be with it compare.
The regular version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 comes with OLED – 60Hz screen, Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9825 processor, and a good main camera that still looks like a great everyday option.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is the same old horse that does not spoil the furrows, but plows.
If you want more, then you can look at the Galaxy Note 10 Plus. It will already have a QHD + screen (versus FHD + in the Galaxy Note 10), a 4,300mAh battery (versus 3,500mAh) and faster charging.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite – cheap and cheerful
It makes sense to consider this smartphone separately from the entire Galaxy Note 10 line, at least due to the fact that it costs much less and because of this it is in a separate category. You could even say that it looks almost the most interesting alternative to the new Galaxy Note 20.
Samsung's more affordable Note makes a few compromises over the flagship Note 10 and Note 20 families, such as the simpler Exynos 9810 processor released in 2018. It won't have wireless charging and a significant level of water resistance.
The Galaxy Note 10 Lite is cool too.
However, the phone has decent front and rear cameras and a 4,500mAh battery that's larger than the Note 9, Note 10, and even the Note 20.
Naturally, you still get the S Pen and even a 3.5mm headphone port. So if you like the idea of the Note but don't want to part with the headphone jack, this is the model you should take a look at.
OnePlus 8 Pro – it turns out it's not that expensive
This smartphone will already be a little (much) more expensive than the models presented before. As a bonus to the higher price, you get both the better performance and responsiveness that top-end OnePlus have always done well with.
The “Pro” version of the current generation OnePlus has a lot in common with the flagship Note 20. For example, the screen frequency of 120 Hz, QHD + screen resolution, IP68 water protection and 30W wireless charging.
This smartphone has been criticized by many for its price. Including me. But it turns out 'there is much more.'
The flagship OnePlus also offers a good camera, which includes a 48MP main camera with an IMX689 sensor, but it costs a little less and does not have an S Pen. Then it's up to you to decide if you need a stylus for such a big difference in price.
Samsung Galaxy S20 – the same, but different
Another great option, and released this year, could be the Samsung Galaxy Note 20. They are very similar to the Galaxy Note 20. First of all, they both boast One UI, IP68 water protection, wireless charging, OLED – matrix and screen refresh rate 120 Hz.
Only the basic version of the Galaxy Note 20 does not support 120 Hz refresh rates. Therefore, if we consider the basic versions, then in this case the Galaxy S20 in any version may become more interesting. Of course, in the event that the S Pen is not something super necessary for you.
I have been using this smartphone for a long time and I understand that it is no worse than the Galaxy Note 20, but without the S Pen.
By the way, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra version also surpasses the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in many ways. It has a bigger battery, a more powerful camera and some other little things.
Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max – where can we go without it
Of course, considering the alternatives of many top smartphones, it is simply not correct not to remember iPhone. Let it be different and many people do not like it, but it is also a flagship with a lot of advantages that can set it apart from its competitors.
Moreover, one cannot help but recall it due to the fact that it is one of the most popular smartphones in the series iPhone 11. The iPhone 11 Pro Max is perhaps the most suitable alternative to the Galaxy Note 20 in the camp Apple offering the same large screen, long-lasting battery, water resistance and wireless charging.
iPhone 11 Pro Max is good, but this is Apple. If this does not bother you, then the alternative is worthy.
iPhone 11 Pro Max came out almost a year ago, but it still has a powerful A13 processor to keep things running fast. It also has many other benefits. For example, a camera, cool digging services and updates that will come in five years. The company does not officially declare this, but the current firmware is supported by five-year-old smartphones, and this has been the case all recently.
The disadvantages include the absence 5G, a lower refresh rate and the lack of a fingerprint scanner. And in the basic version, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is cheaper, but it has twice the memory.
