Nokia was once the largest player in the market. Today, of course, the situation has changed a lot. The phones are developed by the Chinese HDM Global, while only the name and the development team that make up the majority of HMD remain of Nokia. Earlier, Nokia released a “bananaphone” – an updated Nokia 8110 with 4G support on Kai OS. The smartphone has become a kind of return to the past. The company thus tried to get the attention of fans of old Finnish devices. Nostalgia is an important thing, and Nokia understands very well that good sales can be made on this. And that is why the company may present an updated Nokia N9 2020 5G in the future. We got our hands on renders of the phone, which we are ready to share. By the way, this year Nokia will introduce a foldable smartphone.
Nokia is preparing an updated N9 2020
As you already understood, the updated version of Nokia N9 will be called Nokia N9 2020. If you evaluate the render of the device, you will notice the presence of two cameras (the original N9 had only one camera). You may also notice the presence of the Always On Display. This implies the use in the device OLED – display.
According to phone.cnmo, the device was designed by designer Antoni Andreas.
I like the new N9 2020 very much. The original device appeared on the market back in 2011 and ran on the MeeGo operating system, was equipped with AMOLED – a 3.9-inch screen with a resolution of 480 × 854, a single-core TI OMAP processor with a clock speed of 1 GHz, 1 GB operational and 16 or 64 GB of internal memory, an 8-megapixel camera and a 1450 mAh battery. For its time, it was an extremely stylish and unusual gadget. He offered the original operating system. Below is a video review of the device:
It was due to its appearance and operating system that the phone attracted attention even against the background of Android – competitors.
It would be nice if the updated N9 received a new generation operating system with gesture control and a new structure of interface elements. Of course, the company is unlikely to surprise us with this and will present the phone in a clean Android, but I still hope for something more than just a phone that looks like the N9.
The original N9 had a fairly thick 12.1mm body. In the case of the updated one, we are dealing with a very subtle solution. The N9 used a rather unusual unibody case for that time, in the updated N9, of course, this feature was retained, but today it does not produce such a “wow” effect.
We've previously compiled a list of the best push-button phones, most of which are Nokia devices.
The good news is that the bottom and top of the N9 are flat and allow you to put the device on a flat surface. In general, the N9 2020 is a fairly logical continuation that looks both stylish and at the same time similar to the original model.
