For many years I have been using the good old iPhone as the main device 6. However, it's time to update my gadget, and I decided to purchase a refurbished one iPhone 7. However, after reading user comments on Apple Insider.ru to my publication, and after studying the quality of the restored screens iPhone, I came to a decision not in favor Apple, canceling my order. The question arose before me – which device to buy? Redmi The K30, with all its flaws, offered a 120Hz display and a good Sony camera module that I was so eager to try, however I opted for the Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite with a 6.39-inch display.
How I realized that I do not need a compact smartphone
I have always been skeptical about large screens, considering them not very user-friendly. I tried several modern devices with a diagonal of more than 6 inches, and they all seemed too large and heavy to me at that time. Especially Redmi 8 was very heavy. However, I still took a chance and ordered the Mi 9 Lite. At the time of ordering, I was also thinking about buying iPhone SE, since the concept of a compact phone for one-handed use completely suited me, besides, before that I owned iPhone 5s for 3 years.
Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite
Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite changed my attitude towards big screens. Due to the thin bezels, the phone in the hands does not seem so big, unlike Redmi 8, and the battery is only 4000 mAh, not 5000 mAh, so it also weighs much less Redmi 8. However, it is still large against the background of my old iPhone, which, if you put it on Mi 9 Lite, completely fits into the dimensions of a smartphone Xiaomi, even taking into account the large frames at the top and bottom .
Using Mi 9 Lite for about 3 days, I was able to radically change the attitude towards big phones. It turns out they are not that awkward. 6.39-inches in a coupe with thin bezels no longer seem like something scary. In addition, the non-standard screen ratio makes chatting in messengers and surfing the Internet convenient, as well as studying photos in Instagram. I compared the dimensions of the Mi 9 Lite with the old Redmi Note 3 Pro and was very surprised when I realized that it was smaller in width than the Note 3 Pro, and only slightly more in height – by half a centimeter. And the RN3P was equipped with a 5.5-inch display. Thus, we get a 6.39-inch phone, which is even more comfortable in the hands than the 5.5-inch model due to the reduced width. A funny situation.
Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite
The non-standard screen ratio makes watching movies comfortable, and I don't see any particular problems with scaling on YouTube. And, of course, the most important thing – Twitter, Telegram, Vkontakte – all these applications are now much more convenient to use. It seems that before that I was inside a cramped elevator using a 4.7-inch device.
Moreover, now I will gladly purchase a foldable phone in the future, similar to the Huawei Mate X, because the concept of a foldable phone by doubling the size of the display when unfolded is certainly very attractive. I can't wait to try 7 and even 8-inch phones, because the big screen gives more information, more space for creating and viewing content. At least the folding Mate X can already be used as a full-fledged replacement for a laptop when connected to a phone Bluetooth – keyboard.
