Despite the fact that Samsung has always made awesome flagship smartphones, it has been frankly not doing well with state employees from the very beginning. Not that there were few of them in the company's assortment, but rather the opposite. However, for a long time they were so faceless and uninteresting in terms of features that most of the more or less understanding users did not want to buy them. All this led to the fact that Samsung began to give up its positions to Chinese brands, which caught a general interest in inexpensive but functional devices, until it came to its senses and did not revise the Galaxy A line, which received its first update.

At the end of last year, Samsung presented the Galaxy A51 smartphone, which turned out to be the successor of the ideas invested in the Galaxy A50. It was he, if you remember, became the most popular smartphone in Russia. And, I must say, there was a reason. Despite a number of compromises that the Koreans made, they managed to create a balanced smartphone capable of attracting a wide audience of users by combining extensive functionality and low price. Galaxy A51, as befits a successor, has become better in everything. We figure out how the new product differs from its predecessor, especially since now it can be bought in Russia.

First of all, this is, of course, design. Samsung actually redrawn the appearance of the new product, which it has done in the style of the 2020 flagships that have not yet been released. The front camera lens in the middle, which was previously used only in the Galaxy Note 10, as well as the rectangular block of the main camera, consisting of four modules, clearly plays into the hands of the Galaxy A51. In addition, Samsung was able to reduce the bezels around the display, which increased its diagonal to 6.5 inches. In general, the device looks much more expensive than it costs.
It is no coincidence that I wrote 'looks' instead of 'felt', because in terms of tactile sensations that the smartphone gives, the A51 remained approximately at the level of the A50. Samsung decided to keep the plastic case, except for slightly decorating the back panel with an indistinct geometric ornament. They made the device more attractive than its predecessor was, but by and large, given the rest of the redesign, it was possible to do without it.

The upgrade of the main camera, which received an additional, fourth, module, does not end there. The Koreans have tweaked the resolution of the main camera, bringing it to the level of modern devices – 48 megapixels. True, it is clearly not worth expecting that this will greatly affect the quality of the photo. However, even the A50 took pictures quite tolerably, and the A51 in this regard will be at least no worse. Moreover, the manufacturer himself focuses on the emerging macro-module, with which you can take pictures of small objects at close range. But the ToF sensor, as in the flagships, was not delivered. Apparently, then it would have turned out too expensive.
There is nothing remarkable with hardware: an Exynos 9611 processor, 4/6 GB of RAM and 64/128 GB of internal memory. But it doesn't matter. But the price at which the A51 was brought to Russia is important, and this is only 19,990 rubles for the basic version and 22,990 rubles for the top-end. However, personally, I would not overpay and took the Galaxy A51 in the database, because today all devices in this price segment work plus or minus the same – I don't believe I'm saying this – regardless of the amount of RAM.
