Huawei already has the best processor in the world, but she's not talking about it yet

Life is so arranged that from time to time we have to see off technologies, gadgets and other attributes of modern life, to which we are accustomed. Here again the time has come. We have already written that Huawei are losing their Kirin chipsets. Now the company will have to live and work differently, but like a rock star dying once again on stage, the company must issue a code that will show everyone who leaves undefeated. This code should be a new generation processor, which will be used in smartphones of the Huawei Mate 40 series. This processor is already ready, but the problem is that the company is not yet in a hurry to praise it and tell in advance about how he will. Instead, she paused. But why does she need it? What do you think?

Kirin

Even if not dramatized too much, Kirin processors are a whole era.

New processor Huawei

Initially, there was information that the company should present its new flagship chipset on September 3, 2020 as part of IFA 2020. However, at its speech on September 3 Huawei did not announce the new Kirin 1000 processor. At the same time, Walter Gee, President Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) Europe, spoke about Huawei commitment to Europe.

The very next day, September 4, the subsidiary brand Honor announced several new products for international markets. And immediately reports began to come from China, according to which, Huawei decided not to announce its new chipset, so as not to attract undue attention.

Huawei is at the center of a dispute between the US and China over the tech sector. The Kirin 1000 will be the last flagship mobile chipset Huawei. If all goes to plan, this chipset should be the world's first processor of its kind. It must be made with a 5nm process technology.

Huawei

There is clearly little joy in the company's management over the sanctions.

Who makes the processors for Huawei and Honor

Many people think that the processors are manufactured by a subsidiary company Huawei called HiSilicon. This is not entirely true. This company only develops chipsets, and the production is carried out by a longtime partner Huawei – TSMC, which produces processors for many other brands, including Qualcomm. This is due to the fact that TSMC has the main thing – huge factories and technologies that allow making the necessary chips according to approved projects. There is simply no reason for companies that sell processors to make expensive production lines when it is easier to “juggle” TSMC and pay it a commission for the use of equipment, labor and other things.

In May of this year, the US Department of Commerce amended export regulations that did not allow TSMC to work with Huawei. This was the end of their collaboration, but the Taiwanese company was allowed to fulfill previously placed orders Huawei until September 14th.

TSMC is reportedly working overtime to ship as many chipsets as possible, but it is still far from covering the true needs. At the moment, there is even information that Huawei doubts that she will be able to properly launch the release of the new flagship smartphone.

Girls with phones

We are always looking forward to new smartphones. Especially from the three world leaders, which includes and Huawei.

The company is rumored to have only 15 million units in stock at the moment. Last year, 12 million Mate 30 smartphones were sold in the first three months since the start of sales. Even despite the fact that this particular smartphone was the first to not receive support from Google services, sales were still very decent.

Latest Processors Huawei

For now, the upcoming Kirin 1000 could be the last chipset from Huawei to hit the market. According to rumors, this new chipset will work in three smartphones of the new series at once. It can be found in the Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro +. At this stage, Chinese enterprises lack the technology and resources that could enable the company to start producing chipsets on its own. If the company is really working on this issue, then it will have a great future, but it is too early to talk about it and it needs to get out of this situation and figure out where to buy good processors for the next models.

In addition, there is also Qualcomm, which is very keen to ship its processors for flagship smartphones Huawei. Despite the sanctions and the ban on the work of American companies with Huawei, this option is possible. And, of course, Qualcomm really wants this, because a manufacturer from the three world leaders is too tasty a piece of the pie.

Kirin processor

Losing Kirin is almost a tragedy for some, but an opportunity for others.

The company justifies its desire and even the need to ship chipsets Huawei by the fact that the telecommunications giant will still find where to buy hardware, but in this case the American company will lose about 8-10 billion dollars a year.

Although Huawei already uses chipsets Qualcomm Snapdragon in their budget smartphones and has been doing it for a long time, state employees are one thing, and flagships are another. That is why it cannot be ruled out that the Huawei P50 will be the first flagship smartphone of the company next spring to receive the Snapdragon chipset.

At the moment Huawei did not officially mention anything about the delay in the release of the Kirin 1000 chipset. There is no information about the delays in the release of the Huawei Mate 40. Therefore, most likely, we will wait for the release of the new processor. and a new smartphone in just a few weeks.
