In 2020, market leaders will take even more confident positions, the only exception can be Huawei, which has not yet introduced the P40 line, however, it expects a 20% decrease in smartphone shipments this year, which may upset the brand's fans.

Samsung Galaxy S20 is the new flagship of the Koreans

The flagship line from Samsung this year received not so many innovations and is, in my opinion, the most controversial in recent years, but one cannot but admit the fact that Samsung still makes the best devices on the market, if you do not take into account their cost.

On February 11, at the Unpacked 2020 launch, the company unveiled the Galaxy S20, S20 + and S20 Ultra. The smartphones are equipped with an Exynos 990 / Snapdragon 865 processor, the older model offers consumers a 108-megapixel camera and a 48-megapixel periscope module with 100x zoom. Thanks to the 48-megapixel module, the company managed to achieve 4x optical zoom. Another plus of the line is the ability to shoot video in 8K. Don't forget the display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The new flagship line has raised a ton of questions due to its high cost, but that doesn't change the fact that the S20, S20 + and S20 Ultra are currently the best devices on the market. If you don't mind the high cost, they are great options.

Samsung Galaxy Z FLip – a premium foldable device

The Galaxy Z Flip smartphone for 120 thousand rubles for real fashionistas, and this is not a joke. The device looks extremely stylish, and an unusual design adds points to it, with which you can photograph yourself from a distance. The Z Flip is the cheapest folding phone on the market.

Along with the Galaxy S20 line, the company also introduced the Galaxy Z Flip foldable smartphone. It is equipped with a Snapdragon 855+ processor, a 6.7-inch dynamic AMOLED display, a 12MP camera and a 3300mAh battery. A smartphone in Russia can be bought for 120 thousand rubles. We can say that this is the most interesting device in terms of design – mother-of-pearl glass and folding mechanism will surely attract passers-by.

Would I buy it? Perhaps, because for 120 thousand it is the cheapest folding solution. The only downside is the folded thickness – the Mate X is still a long way off. Motorola Razr (2020) – one of the most attractive

Motorola Razr is a revolutionary gadget from the Chinese. Before the release, it seemed to many people really revolutionary, but the company was delaying the start of sales, and by the time it was released, we had the opportunity to purchase a device from Samsung at a more attractive price. In addition, the Razr has a number of disadvantages that are difficult to tolerate given its high cost.

It is the world's first flexible smartphone with a horizontal hinge. The device costs about $ 1,500, and at the same time it is highly popular not only among the fans of the line. It offers a 6.2-inch OLED display, 16-megapixel main and 5-megapixel front, Snapdragon 710 processor. Many people complain about the poor quality of the camera and not very good battery life. In addition, iFixit previously called the device the most difficult in terms of design.

I cannot recommend this smartphone, because, firstly, it is too expensive and does not match the price, secondly, it has a number of the above problems, and thirdly, in Russia officially Motorola Razr is not sold. There is a good alternative from Samsung in the form of the Z Flip, so why then look for unnecessary problems?

Xiaomi Mi 10 – $ 600 flagship

Let's close our eyes to the high price of the device in the maximum configuration, because for only $ 570 you have access to the minimum version, but still on the flagship processor, besides, many say that the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro cameras do not differ much. therefore, Mi 10 can even be called good for its money, if you choose the modification wisely.

The company Xiaomi previously unveiled the flagship smartphone Mi 10. It offers users a Snapdragon 865 processor, a 4780 mAh battery, 8/12 GB of RAM, 128/256 gigabytes of internal memory, a 108-megapixel camera with support for 8K shooting and 6.67 '' FHD display with 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touchscreen. The smartphone in the maximum configuration is priced at $ 900, earlier we wrote our opinion on this matter. In addition, DxO scores are questionable. In addition, we compared the Mi 10 to its closest competitor Realme the X50 Pro.

By the way, the Realme X50 Pro will also be a good option, and at a price it roughly corresponds to the solution from Xiaomi, here most likely everything depends on your personal preferences, so I can recommend both to fans of cheap Chinese flagships devices.

Oppo Find X2 – decent hardware, but too expensive

The company sold just 40 Find X devices in Russia last year. Probably, in the case of Find X2, the situation will be similar, because the phone is too expensive. The company spends a lot of resources on advertising the gadget, including attracting popular bloggers, but this, rather, looks like an ill-considered action.

On March 6, Oppo unveiled the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro. The Pro version is distinguished by the presence of a periscope camera, as well as a large amount of memory. Otherwise, these are similar devices. Find X2 is equipped with Snapdragon 865 processor, 6.7-inch display with 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touchscreen, 4200mAh battery, 48MP main camera module. The disadvantage of the phone can be called its too high cost – after all, the Russian consumer is not ready to pay 73 thousand rubles for a Chinese device. I wonder, of course, what you think about this.

In general, it turns out funny. We are discussing the high price tag of the Galaxy S20, and here some Chinese manufacturer decided to stand out with a device, the Pro version of which costs about 100 thousand rubles. What's next? I think manufacturers need to stop chasing the very best and focus on the cost of their products. This is especially true for Oppo.

Huawei Mate Xs is the most interesting

The most comfortable foldable smartphone on the market. I find the Mate Xs the most attractive phone currently. Yes, it's expensive, yes, it doesn't have Google services, but its great design and large screen with thin bezels without cutouts make it extremely attractive. It seems like buying the Mate Xs will keep you looking cool for many years to come.

This is an updated foldable device from Huawei. It is equipped with an 8-inch display, a 40-megapixel camera, 8 GB of RAM, 512 GB of internal memory, a Kirin 990 processor, a 4500 mAh battery. Many people note that, unlike the Mate X, the Xs has become much more pleasant to feel in the hands, there are no problems with the hinge and the smartphone now does not seem flimsy.

My choice

Which smartphone from the list above seems to me the most interesting? I would take a closer look at Huawei Mate Xs. The smartphone surprises with its appearance, and the fact that there is only one display is only a plus. In the Galaxy Fold, we are dealing with a secondary screen that also looks ridiculous, and the main display has a notch – not very pleasant to see this in 2020. The Mate Xs, meanwhile, offers a large 8-inch screen that is quite compact when folded. In addition, Mate Xs is about fixing bugs, the Chinese made it better. Yes, there are no Google services here, so what? Having such a device on hand, somehow you don't even think about services – you just enjoy using it.

Take a closer look at the machines right now

The fact is that not so long ago the ruble exchange rate jumped significantly, so hurry up to buy the new product in 2020 until the manufacturers change the pricing policy, because at present, for example, the Galaxy S20 in Russia costs 70 thousand rubles, and in Europe about 77 thousand. If you don't want to buy a new phone for a lot of money in 2020, you can look at the market for used smartphones. Here I would recommend buying a Galaxy S10 or Note 10. It can be bought on Avito for as little as 20-25 thousand, which makes the device probably the best for its price.
